Travel

There will be a 50 USD registration fee payable only at the workshop by cash, check (in USD made out to Yale University), or credit card. This fee covers the coffee/tea breaks and the Workshop Dinner. Workshop will be held in the Bass Center, Room 305. Breaks are in Bass 405.   (click here for map)

New Haven is accessible from a number of area airports. It is approximately 1.5 hours from LaGuardia Airport (New York), 2 hours from JFK Airport (New York), and 2.5 hours from both Newark Airport (New Jersey) and Logan Airport (Boston). See below for details.

International Travelers

J. F. Kennedy Airport

Go Airport Shuttle provides door-to-door van transportation services (1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic, $68-73 one way or $132 round trip). Reservations are necessary, and can be made online or by calling 1-800-377-8745, or 1-203-891-1280 from overseas. Go Airport Shuttle can drop you off on the Yale campus or any area hotel. Connecticut Limousine Service provides shared van transportation (1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic, $68 one way or $132 round trip). Reservations are not necessary, but may be made via the website. Look for Ground Transportation signs in the baggage area of the airport and go to the Connecticut Limousine telephone. Newark Airport (New Jersey)

Connecticut Limousine Service provides shared van transportation (2 to 3 hours depending on traffic, $92 one way or $180 round trip). Reservations are not necessary, but may be made via the website. Look for Ground Transportation signs in the baggage area of the airport and go to the Connecticut Limousine telephone. Pick up the telephone and tell the dispatcher where you are and he/she will tell you where and when to meet the bus. The Connecticut Limousine Terminal in New Haven (located at Union Station, 50 Union Avenue, New Haven) is about a 10-minute taxi ride to campus/local hotels.
Amtrak also provides direct train service from Newark Airport station to New Haven (2.5 hours, $35-$74 depending on date of booking). Bass is a 10-minute taxi ride from the New Haven Railroad Station (Union Station). Online reservations are highly recommended. Note that Newark and Newark Airport are two different Amtrak stations; you need a reservation from Newark Airport (EWR). Click here for driving directions to the hotel.

Domestic Travelers

Tweed-New Haven Airport

Tweed-New Haven Airport is very small, with flights only to Philadelphia, but is only a 10-minute drive to the Yale Campus. Taxi rides are approximately $25 per trip. Taxi service in the New Haven area is available from Metro Taxi (203-777-7777) and Heritage Taxi: (203-466-6666). Bradley International Airport

Logan Airport

The MBTA Silver Line (15 minutes, free from the airport) connects Logan Airport to Boston South Station. Amtrak provides train service from Boston South Station to New Haven Union Station throughout the day. (2 to 2.5 hours, $39-$110 one way depending on date of booking and high-speed or local train choice). Parking on campus

Parking on campus is not recommended. It is only a 20-minute walk from the hotel to Yale and May is generally a very temperate month in New England. If you do require parking, contact paula.farnsworth@yale.edu for arrangements and cost.
