I am currently
a
postdoctoral
researcher in the Physics department at Yale University, where I
completed my Ph.D. thesis under the supervision of John Harris in
February 2006.
Before coming to Yale, I finished my undergraduate education at
University of California at Berkeley with a physics degree in the Year
2000. I
received my master of science degree in physics from Yale University in
2001. I study experimental heavy-ion physics and investigate the properties of strongly interacting, very hot and dense matter produced in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Long Island, NY. STAR experiment is one of the four experiments at RHIC and built to measure the particles that are produced in the collisions of proton to gold ions. I am a member of STAR Collaboration and strangeness working group within STAR. Since we work with millions and millions of data, I use C++, Root (Cern) and labview computer programs to handle all this data. One of my other duties as a graduate student was to teach physics to Yale undergraduates. Here is a list of academic positions that I held: Postdoctoral researcher (2006-present) Department of Physics, Yale University Research Assistant (2000-2006) Star Experiment, Yale University Teaching Assistant (2000-2005) Department of Physics, Yale University Research Assistant (summer 2000) Star Experiment, Brookhaven National Lab Research Assistant (1999-2000) Theoretical Center of Beam Physics LBNL Teaching Assistant (1997-1998) Department of Physics, Bogazici University |
