Dear Participants,

The response to this year's Winter Workshop was overwhelming and thus we were able to put together a very strong program. We also had to accommodate more than 70 speakers which forced us to be 'inventive' in order to stick to our tradition to give every speaker the same amount of time, namely 25+5 minutes. Therefore please closely review the preliminary agenda that we have posted on the web-site and let us know of any problems or changes you would like to see.

Due to the large number of participants the hotel rooms will fill up fast and we urge you to register through the 'accommodations' link on our web-site as soon as possible. If you are looking to share a room please let us know by e-mail and we will send you a list of possible room-mates. Please also study the participant list and make your own arrangements. Please tell the hotel the name of your room-mate when you make the room reservation. Students that will receive support will be assigned rooms. We hope you are looking forward with us to an exciting and productive week in South Padre. We will have a welcome reception on Saturday, April 5th from 7-10 p.m. at the Sheraton. We ask you to attend the reception (free food and cash bar) and pay your registration fee at that time. We will accept cash and personal checks. The registration fee is $300. If you are not available during the reception, please try to find one of the organizers as soon as you arrive in South Padre in order to pay your registration fee. Included in the fee are all breakfasts, two refreshment breaks per day, and three dinners including the banquet on Friday.

The scientific program will commence on Sunday morning, April 6th and run until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th. We assume that all participants will stay and participate in the entire workshop. Wednesday afternoon is free for excursions or social activities. We might continue our beach olympics tradition from the Bahamas, if weather permits. Please check the posted scientific program for any last minute changes.
