Dear Colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce the upcoming 24th Winter Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics, to be held at the Sheraton Resort on South Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is accessible by car from Texas and is part of the United States. The meeting will be held from April 5-12, 2008. The scientific program will commence in the morning of April 6th and run until the afternoon of April 12th.

The 24th workshop in this series will continue the tradition of covering the entire range of topics in the field of nuclear physics, with a particular emphasis on the RHIC and upcoming LHC programs. But we will also leave ample time for sessions on future NSAC priorities such as the JLab upgrade, FRIB, DUSEL and eRHIC. These fields have significant intellectual overlap and we hope to achieve in-depth discussions which will be aided by the format of the workshop that allows plenty of time during and between sessions. As usual each workshop day will have morning and evening sessions. All talks will be of 25 minutes duration, with an additional 5 minutes for questions. For the first time we are also planning a dedicated student presentation session with shorter (15+5 min) presentations. We will be able to partially sponsor a limited number of students. If you are a student and interested in support, please send a separate application (incl. talk title, abstract, advisor's name and advisor's e-mail address) to bellwied@physics.wayne.edu

If you are interested in attending this workshop, please go to the conference web  site at http://star.physics.yale.edu/ww08/index.html and fill in the registration form. We are interested in keeping the workshop attendance to less than 80, and so a timely registration is recommended.

We have negotiated a special reduced rate with the resort of $99 per day per room, single or double occupancy. Hotel registration information and deadlines are available on the web-site. We will provide breakfasts, a welcome reception on Saturday evening, plus two dinners and one banquet during the week, as well as food and drinks during two daily coffee breaks for all workshop participants. We will also offer a separate breakfast and dinner package for accompanying persons.

A registration fee of $300 per person will be charged, which includes a copy of the proceedings publication. This registration fee can be paid upon arrival at the resort.

Warmest regards from the Organizers:
